Our Biblical Foundation

Living Springs Ministries came into existence based on a revelation on the conversation of Jesus Christ (born into this world as a Jew) with a Samaritan (Gentile) woman at the well in Sycar recorded in John 4: 13-14. Jesus told the Samaritan woman:

"Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life"

Our mandate is to people from bring all races and nations to the living Word - Jesus Christ, hence our motto "All Nations, One Word." Our mission to break down the prejudicial racial divide between so called "whites" and "blacks" or "whites" versus "colored people" and bring all people to the saving knowledge of Jesus, who gave Himself sacrificially for the sins of all mankind."For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life" - John 3:16.

This conversation of Jesus took place against all the established barriers between Jews and Gentiles demonstrated by these statements: "Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans." - John 4:9.  In Israel, spiritual leaders (rabbi) were not allowed to speak to women in public; a strongly classed society where women were not recognized. This was demonstrated by the apparent surprise of Jesus' disciples "And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why are You talking with her?” - John 4:27, Jesus demonstrates the important message that every individual irrespective of their race, ethnicity, gender, creed or background matters immensely to God and for that precise reason He had come to breakdown the dividing walls of race, ethnicity, creed and gender!

Since the time these powerful statements were written, our world has seen and continues to experience tremendous change including technological advancement, growth and development with a vast north-south divide, incessant wars, the rise and fall of many empires, formation of treaties and accords, breakdown of barriers of oppression, suppression and segregation against particular races and ethnicities, gender or sections of societies and increasing religious intolerance against individuals and communities practicing different believes and faiths. The standard of living conditions in many parts of the world predominantly in the northern hemisphere and westernised countries have largely improved and many people enjoy comfortable and affluent lifestyles today.

However, despite all the advancements we enjoy today, there are still great spiritual, moral, emotional and physical needs in many lives all over the world, including the affluent westernised countries. Many of us find it very difficult to handle the complex and interacting everyday relationships and our life experiences are littered with many broken relationships! There is an increasing sense of emptiness and loneliness in individual lives, a lack of genuine social care and communal relationships, which is the heart of healthy human living. There seems to be something missing in our lives, a vital part which keep everything together and makes life worth living and mankind is desperately searching for solutions, to little or no avail. "What do people really get for all their hard work? 10 I have seen the burden God has placed on us all. 11 Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end." - Ecclesiastes 3:9-11.

There is a hole in every man's heart that only Jesus can fill. Wholeness in life come from knowing Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.  Like the lame man at the pool of Bethesda, only Jesus can make us whole. "Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee" - John 5:14

You can experience forgiveness and true fulfillment in life through coming to know Jesus and developing a living relationship with Him.
